Hy everyone, and thank you for visiting Black Feather Poetry. I’m Didier Beaugrand, I hope you’ve enjoyed what I’ve put together here for you.
Who do I write for? I particularly like psychological and philosophical themes, I write for the dreamers who feel at odd in the world. For all of you who like me intuit that life and the world are more than the description we have been given. I write for the explorers, the mad men and women who are searching for a new frontier, and I would like you to join me.
Why do I Write? Because writing and reading poetry is my spiritual practice; it allows me to explore and interact with the symbolic world in a secular way. I write to find myself and connect with others. I write to change the world, I write because I truly believe that poetry and art in general have the power to make the world a better place. I write because I have to…! It allows one to reappropriate language and meaning in a very direct way and reaffirm ones’ presence and potency as an individual in the world. Please, don’t take my word for it… try it, do it, start writing, painting or any other creative art or action and witness your soul take flight.
I’ll finish if I may with a quote from Arthur Rimbaud and a caricature from is friend and lover Paul Verlaine.
“I is another. If the brass wakes the trumpet, it’s not its fault. That’s obvious to me, I watch it, I hear it, I make the stroke with the bow: the symphony begins in the depths, or springs with a bound onto the stage.” Arthur Rimbaud.
